CM500 RTU Network Examples

Direct Connection:

The CM-500 RTU can communicate directly to a PC/Host using RS-232. Additional CM-500's can be daisey-chained via RS-485 connections on the RTU.

Host to Radio to CM-500 Connection:

Convenience of 'license free' radios allows for connection to CM-500's in hard to reach locations. Automation Egnineering has a number of compatible radios available.

Host to Multiple RTU types:

Host communicating to multiple RTU types. Connection to any Bristol 33xx RTU line can be utilized as a data concentrator. The MIU converts the RS-232 signals to FSK audio for the ASC-558's. The MIU is not required if ASC-558's are not used. The Bristol 33xx RTU's provide 'local' IO and flexibility in protocol types, as is the CM-500 RTU.
